Alison Umminger teaches creative writing at the University of West Georgia.  She has won the Lawrence Foundation Award for fiction from Prairie Schooner, and her fiction has appeared there and in other journals including Hayden's Ferry Review, Crab Orchard Review, Orchid, and Terminus.  Her nonfiction has appeared on Gawker.com and Workstew.com, and she is currently at work on a young adult novel and a screenplay.
